Ayurveda & Yoga: India’s Ancient Science for a Modern World

Image
In an era gripped by lifestyle diseases, chronic stress, and medical overdependence, the global community is rediscovering two profound healing systems born from the Indian subcontinent — Ayurveda and Yoga . No longer relegated to the fringes as alternative practices, these ancient sciences are now gaining worldwide traction as preventive, curative, and rejuvenative paths to holistic health. Ayurveda: The Science of Life, the Art of Healing- More than a medical system, Ayurveda is a philosophy for sustainable living — one that aligns body, mind, and spirit with nature’s rhythms. With roots stretching back over 3,000 years, and foundational texts like the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita , Ayurveda anticipated much of what modern medicine is only beginning to explore: personalized care, root-cause treatment, and toxin-free healing. Why Ayurveda Matters Now More Than Ever- Unlike allopathy, which often masks symptoms with pharmaceutical interventions, Ayurveda addresses the under...

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The World is One Family

Image
The phrase "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" is one of the most profound and inclusive teachings rooted in ancient Indian philosophy. Derived from the Sanskrit words “Vasudha” (earth), “eva” (indeed), and “Kutumbakam” (family), it translates to “The world is indeed one family.” This timeless principle, sourced from the Mahā Upanishad (6.71–75), encapsulates the spirit of global unity, empathy, and interconnectedness. While modern geopolitics often operates on the basis of competition and conflict, this Indian worldview envisions a higher truth: that humanity is bound by shared existence and mutual respect Historical Roots of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam The concept finds its earliest mention in the Mahā Upanishad, where the sage proclaims: " अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्     उदारचारितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् " “This is mine, that is his, say the small-minded; the wise believe that the entire world is a family.” This doctrine shaped Indian thought, conduct, and diplomacy for mi...

GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS

Image
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)  refer to organisms whose genetic material has been altered using advanced genetic engineering techniques. In contemporary medical science and biotechnology, GMOs play a pivotal role in the development of innovative vaccines, therapeutic compounds, enhanced agricultural produce, and high-yield proteins. Genetically engineered crops and vegetables, specifically tailored for human consumption, are at the forefront of modern food and healthcare solutions, addressing both global nutritional needs and medical challenges. These Genetically modified crops are also called Transgenic Crops. As  the global human population continues to rise at an unprecedented pace, the available arable land for food production is steadily diminishing due to rapid infrastructure expansion and urbanization. In response to this growing challenge, advanced biotechnological solutions—particularly genetically modified (GM) crops—offer a promising path...

Is Man Responsible for the Tragedies the World Faces Today?

Image
"Even with all our technology and the inventions that make modern life so much easier than it once was, it takes just one big natural disaster to wipe all that away and remind us that, here on Earth, we're still at the mercy of nature"-   Neil deGrasse Tyson The current catastrophe- The Covid-19, change in climatic cycles, unseasonal and untimely rains, flashflood, rising temperatures, melting of  glaciers and polar ice caps etc. -that have created turmoil across the world—and many other similar disasters—are undoubtedly the result of human actions. Recent flash floods in Texas, which wrecked havoc was termed a 100-year catastrophe by the American President. In India, the structures which stood for 100- odd years are crumbling down like pack of cards. Loss to human and animal life is countless. This is something never seen or heard before. The so-called “development” that mankind has achieved over the past ten thousand years is, in reality, a path of self-destruction. It ...

MEMOIRS FROM MY AYODHYA PILGRIMAGE

When Dharma was declining on earth and the sages, munis, ascetics and the common people were suffering from the atrocities of Rakshsas (demons), the Lord Vishnu himself incarnated in human form to destroy the wicked and restore Dharma and killed demons like Ravana, Kumbhakaran, Meghnath and others. He is called Maryada Purushottam - one who followed the path of Dharma in every situation while leading a painful life himself and to set the path of righteousness for the generations to come.
